Atlas of Endoscopic Ultrasonography, Wiley Blackwell 2012
February 1, 2012 at 4:38 am | Posted in Digestive Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Atlas, Radiology | Leave a commentEndoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is now an established technique for the diagnosis of GI disease. In addition, therapeutic indications for EUS have recently been developed and it is included in the training programs for gastroenterology. The Atlas of Endoscopic Ultrasonography provides a large collection of excellent images obtained from both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to give readers a preview of practice. It includes a DVD with video clips and searchable database of images. This package presents a first-class collection of images to give a highly integrated introduction to endoscopic ultrasonography.

Early Cancer of the Gastrointestinal Tract Endoscopy Pathology and Treatment, Springer 2006
December 23, 2011 at 4:30 am | Posted in Digestive Surgery | Leave a comment
Differences in the diagnostic criteria for early cancer of the gastrointestinal tract between Japan and Western countries have been an interesting issue for some time, physicians in Japan being much more inclined to give a diagnosis of cancer than their European and North American counterparts. This book addresses those differences by contrasting the views of Eastern and Western endoscopists and pathologists on 24 cases presented in Part I. The following sections examine and discuss the Vienna consensus criteria, early cancer in Barretts esophagus, early detection of cancers, endoscopic treatments, the natural course of early cancer, and diagnostic methods and treatments for early cancer. These all deal with esophagus, stomach, and colorectal cancers. This book will be an indispensable and unique resource for all pathologists, endoscopists, and surgeons who are involved in managing gastrointestinal cancer.

Atlas of Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepato Pancreato Biliary Surgery, Springer 2007

Atlas of Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Surgery covers in detail the technical aspects of all important procedures of the upper abdomen (esophagus, duodenum, stomach, liver, biliary system, pancreas, portal hypertension and spleen) including general, oncologic and transplantation surgery. Each chapter has been written by an expert renowned in his or her field and been reviewed by a second expert. All of the approximately 900 illustrations have been drawn by the same team of three artists of notable experience. The liver section follows the internationally accepted terminology of the Brisbane 2000 conference of the IHPBA. In this atlas experts of upper abdominal surgery share their experience and show how they do it — step by step.

Atlas of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Related Pathology 2nd edition, Blackwell 2002

Atlas of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Related Pathology focuses on recognizing and diagnosing disease and provides a collection of normal and abnormal images as seen through the endoscope. Taking a regional tour down the gastrointestinal tract, the authors integrate discussions of pathology with the images, making this atlas unique. The book highlights the investigation of the pancreas and biliary tract using the technique of ERCP (also known as endoscopic cholangiopancreatography), and also features two new techniques, endoscopic ultrasound and enteroscopy. Includes endoscopic ultrasound with accompanying line drawings to help the reader interpret these often difficult images. Includes pathology, both as microscopic images and explanatory line drawings – so gastroenterologists can correlate what the gut looks like with microscopic pictures of disease Includes coverage of therapeutic endoscopy.

CT Colonography: Principles and Practice of Virtual Colonoscopy, Saunders Elsevier 2010
August 3, 2011 at 2:16 am | Posted in Digestive Surgery, Gastroenterology/ Hepatology, Radiology | Leave a commentIn CT Colonography, Perry Pickhardt and David Kim present techniques for quicker evaluation and diagnosis of colon cancer through the pioneering, specialty-changing imaging technique of virtual colonoscopy (VC). This combination of sophisticated X-rays and CT scans of the abdomen offers patients an alternative to colonoscopy that is cost effective and reduces the need for unnecessary polyp removal. Abundantly illustrated in full color, this pioneering book describes CT colonography from pathogenesis, staging and treatment through indications, technique, and interpretation for the most common pathologies. You’ll have the full spectrum of VC technique and be able to see procedures performed through video clips on the included DVD (only book here for download).
*Covers principles, techniques, and interpretations for the most common pathologies in a logical, practical organization.
*Presents tips from the authors on setting up a VC practice to provide a personal, instructive guide.
*Provides over 1000 full-color, high-resolution anatomic images throughout for the clearest, most accurate picture of colorectal cancer, its natural history, and its diagnosis by VC.
