Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is now an established technique for the diagnosis of GI disease. In addition, therapeutic indications for EUS have recently been developed and it is included in the training programs for gastroenterology. The Atlas of Endoscopic Ultrasonography provides a large collection of excellent images obtained from both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to give readers a preview of practice. It includes a DVD with video clips and searchable database of images. This package presents a first-class collection of images to give a highly integrated introduction to endoscopic ultrasonography.

Atlas of Human Anatomy, John Wiley 2011

February 1, 2012 at 3:38 am | Posted in Medical Atlas | Leave a comment

This new manual takes a systemic approach with each chapter focusing on one body system. The order of chapters will follow the traditional order found in anatomy or anatomy and physiology courses. The photos will include skeletal images, photomicrographs of histology and cadaver dissections. This atlas includes full-color photographs of actual cadaver dissections instead of idealized illustrations, to accurately and realistically represent anatomical structures. The goal is to produce an atlas that is a strong teaching and learning publication and not just a catalog of photographs.

Color Atlas of Anatomy: A Photographic Study of the Human Body (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins) – Seventh Edition 2011

November 23, 2011 at 4:08 am | Posted in Anatomy, BEST SELLER, Medical Atlas | Leave a comment

This Color Atlas of Anatomy features full-color photographs of actual cadaver dissections, with accompanying schematic drawings and diagnostic images. The photographs depict anatomic structures with a realism unmatched by illustrations in traditional atlases and show students specimens as they will appear in the dissection lab.

Chapters are organized by region in order of standard dissection, with structures presented both in a systemic manner, from deep to surface, and in a regional manner.

This edition has additional clinical imaging, including MRIs, CTs, and endoscopic techniques. New graphics include clinically relevant nerve and vessel varieties and antagonistic muscle functions. Many older images have been replaced with new, high-resolution images. Black-and-white dissection photographs have been replaced with color photography.

A companion website will include an Image Bank, interactive software (similar to an Interactive Atlas), and full text online

The Atlas of Diseases of the Kidney series offers unique educational images including coloured photographs, schematics, tables and algorithms. The nine section editors have selected contributing authors who are not only experts in their field but also superb educators. The resultant five volumes contain 67 chapters with more than 2500 images, and provide the best teaching materials available in the field. In Volume I, disorders of water and sodium balance; potassium, magnesium, phosphate, and calcium metabolism; and acid-based balance are eloquently covered in Tomas Berl’s section. Joseph Bonventre edited the section on acute renal failure including ischemic and nephrotoxic insults. His contributors assembled lucid and state-of-the-art educational materials related to the cellular and molecular mechanisms of renal injury and repair. Diagnostic evaluation, renal histology, nutrition and support therapies including intermittent hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and continuous renal replacement therapies are illustrated
